We are looking for a part-time Phlebotomist or a Medical Lab Technician to join our team.

 

Job description:

​

The successful candidate will be working independently under the supervision of Lisa Campbell, Owner and Independent Phlebotomist. You will be expected to draw blood, label samples with close attention to detail according to standards under the Nova Scotia Health Authority guidelines, and deliver to the appropriate Lab. On a day-to-day basis you will be expected to drive to the patients homes/office, clinic settings or one of the facilities under the contract that OAB+ Blood Collection holds.

Your work will enable the company to succeed in a community environment keeping patients safe in the comfort of their homes and following safe practice guidelines.

Requirements and Qualifications:

​

We are looking for a team member who is a motivated professional with experience in phlebotomy. The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills, a valid driver's license and insurance, able to work independently, and the ability to connect with various patients i.e. elderly, children, professionals, and intellectually challenged populations.

Nova Scotia Health Authority requires the individual be current with: CPR, First Aid, WHIMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods; undergo a Phlebotomy Practical Competency Assessment; successfully complete Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training; and become a member of CSMLS if not already.

Candidate must hold a current registration of License Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse or Medical Lab Technician.

Hours: 

​

Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 11:30am.  With additional training in certain techniques, there is a possibility of extending these hours.
